VINYL
Many modern upholstery materials are made from Vinyl. Vinyl is a synthetically made material made from Petroleum natural gas or coal and Chlorine. It has excellent flame retardant properties and is widely used in a multitude of applications. It can also be recycled and used in second-generation plastic products.
As an upholstery material it is hard wearing and can easily be cleaned and maintained. It is naturally resistant to mild acids and alkalis such as it may be exposed to in many restaurant or bar environments.
Wiping with a damp soapy cloth will deal with most normal soiling. Tougher marks may be removed with warm soapy water and gentle scrubbing with a soft brush. Chemical cleaners, bleaches, solvents, abrasives or waxes should not be used as these can damage the material. | |
